An island holiday

It was a perfect relaxation all of us who went with Elsie and Ding Diaz and their family to their wonderful island in Samal. It is Island beside Malipano and going to the top of the hill, we had a breath taking view of Davao City, Talicod Island and the world famous Pearl Farm Beach Resort and Davao Gulf.

The presence of Toyonari Morita and his beautiful spouse, Naomi, from Japan, made the island trip more enjoyable not only for us, but especially for Ding & Elsie. Toyonari Morita and Ding Diaz have been the best of friends for more than 50 years already. Personally, I met Toyonari and Naomi when I was the president of the Rotary Club of South Davao 7 years ago. He came to Davao City together with his fellow Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Osaka East and donated $ 500.00 each to Padre Pio Orphange in Tugbok, Balay Pasilungan in Bangkerohan and Mary Immaculate Learning Center in Talomo Beach.

Going back to the island holiday, the chirping of the birds, the fresh sea breeze and the abundance of ever green trees made our stay more relaxing and invigorating. The food that was served to us by Elsie Diaz were all delicious. I like best the fresh Kinilaw with lots of veggies and the sweet banana, papaya and pineapple fruits.

Our boat trip was very smooth going to the Diaz Island and back to the Sta. Ana Wharf. The smile and laughter’s that we shared with each other made our island holiday perfect and worth remembering.
