Close to 60 entries are expected to answer the green light when the 2012 Castrol Edge Valentines Race 1/8 Mile Drag Race reels off on February 18 at the Speed City Crocodile Park grounds in Maa, here.

Categories to be contested are the Quick 8, Class A, B and C divisions as presented by Castrol Edge, Driftech Auto Shop and TBR Concepts as supported by The Racing Line, University of Mindanao Broadcasting Network (UMBN), Wild 92.3 WT, the Mindanao Times and Nature’s Spring Mineral Water.

Registration fee is pegged at P2,500 per entry. Time trial starts at 8 a.m. to 12 noon while race proper will be at 1 p.m. onwards.

For tube cars with natural aspirated (all motor), engine must weigh 700kgs and above with driver while for tube cars with forced induction (turbo), engine must weigh 730kgs and above with driver.

“We are using this weigh-in specifications for the racer’s safety,” said Peter Sia of the organizing Driftech Auto Shop.
