Ex-soldier tagged in hold-up

Authorities filed a case against an ex-soldier and another accomplice for allegedly robbing a Vitarich employee in Barangay Mintal, Tugbok District at 11 p.m. last Sunday.

SPO1 Prudencio Lagare Jr. of the Mintal Police Precinct diclosed that retired technical sergeant Renato Pabriga, residing in Trading Boulevard and Catalino Quicoy, a temporary resident of Bago Gallera, were positively identified by Gemma Caduan, 29, of Bandera, Espanola Street, Mintal as the one who robbed her.

Lagare said the victim was walking on her way home when the two suspects boarding a motorcycle stopped in front of her and declared hold-up. They grabbed her bag which contained P600, office uniform, IDs and other important belongings.

At 1 a.m. of Monday, police arrested the two during a follow-up operation. They flagged down a passenger jeepney driven by Quicoy and motorcycle driven by Pabriga which was allegedly used in the crime.

The police asked for the papers of the motorcycle but the suspect could not provide anything. The victim positively identified them based on the jackets and helmets they allegedly wore during the robbery.
