The Coordinating Council for Private Educational Associations (COCOPEA) Region XI held its Regional Conference to discuss their role in Strengthening Partnerships among TVET or Technical Vocational Education, Basic Education & HETs towards Successful Implementation of K to 12.
Atty. Marycel C. Engracia, Chairperson of MinTVET was keynote speaker, while Fr. Danny C. Montana, Chairman of CPCOPEA Mindanao Council gave a presentation on the COCOPEA Mindanao Agenda.
Dr. Francisco dela Pena, President of DAVRASTI gave a presentation on the Status, Challenges & Outlook of Technical Education in Region XI. He is pushing for Fisheries and Aquaculture as a need for Mindanao to be self-sustaining in food production.
DepED XI Regional Director Susana Teresa B. Estigoy was the Inducting Officer of the New COCOPEA Regional XI Council Officers.
Presentors on the Proposed Models for K-12 Curriculum were Dr. Gina L. Montalan, Asst. Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences of the Ateneo de Davao University; S. Ma. Preciosa M. Rusiana, RVM; Ma. Lita A. Montalban, President of EMAR Human and & Environmental College and DepED XI Regional Director Susana Teresa B. Estigoy.
Amelia Bonifacio, VP and COO of the Philippine Women’s College of Davao and COCOPEA Council Member gave a synthesis on the presentations made after the open forum.
